?   Some Scriptures contain deep rich truths that can radically change our lives.

?    Today?s verse is just such a thing.

?   If you will meditate on this verse and believe it to be the truth of God for your life, it will transform the way you view this world around you.

?    We will only be able to scratch the surface of this powerful verse in this devotional.

?    Let the Spirit carry you into the depths of the beauty of this amazing promise from the Word.

?   John tells us that ?every child of God defeats this evil world.?
?    One of the first things we should take from this is that the world that we live in is evil. Sin has permeated every part of this world that we are trying to live in.
?    This world also seems determined to destroy everything that glorifies God.
?    It shouldn?t surprise us that the world hates us as Christians, since our goal is to bring ultimate glory to God.
?   Our verse informs us that we can defeat this world.
?   In fact, we are told that ?every child of God? can defeat this evil world.
?   If you have accepted Jesus as your Lord and Savior then you are a child of God and you have within you the power to defeat this world.
?   What is truly amazing to me is what we use to defeat this evil world.
?   We don?t defeat this world by standing up to the injustices in this world.
?    We don?t defeat this evil world by being a super-Christian.
?    We defeat this world by trusting Jesus to give the victory.
?    This means that the only thing we do is believe that Jesus will be victorious and trust Him to do it.
?   The way a believer defeats this evil world is not based on what we are going to do but based on what we believe Jesus is going to do.
?   Even though we are children of Almighty God, we are helpless and powerless to do anything to deal with the evil in this world around us.
?    Only God has the power to defeat the evil in this world.
?   And simply believing that makes victory real in our own lives.
?   This doesn?t mean that we are to sit around doing nothing waiting for Jesus to give us the victory.
?   Part of being a child of God is obedience to His commands.
?     God?s Word clearly instructs about the things we should be doing in our lives.
?    Victory comes as we humbly obey God while we wait for Christ to do His part.
?   God is faithful; we can trust Him to give us the victory if we will simply trust Him.
?   One trusting believer can defeat this evil world.
?    Just imagine what this world would be like if all of God?s children trusted Christ with the victory.
?   Too often we take things into our own hands and interfere with God?s perfect plan.
?   We need to humble our hearts and trust our Good God to do what He promised.
?    Jesus, teach us to trust You ...completely... YES AMEN..
